Andrea DuBrow is the Program Coordinator for the BASSC Executive Development Program. Since 2010, Andrea has been on the faculty at the UC Berkeley School of Social Welfare as a field education consultant and lecturer for the Management and Planning Program, and she teaches a course on the integration of social work and public health to students who are pursuing a dual Master’s Degree in those fields.
Prior to her work with BASSC and UC Berkeley, Andrea worked for the Contra Costa County Health Services Department for over ten years in a variety of public health programs, including Health Care for the Homeless, women’s health, community organizing, youth advocacy, and staffing a public and environmental health advisory board. She successfully raised millions of dollars from federal grants and private foundations and has expertise in grant-writing, program planning, and coordination of projects and multi-disciplinary teams. Andrea has served as a board member of a local public charter school in Oakland and the National Women’s Health Network in Washington, D.C., as well as a health educator for Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo.
Andrea’s professional interests include program planning, policy and organizational development, access to health care, prevention, community building, women’s health, health disparities, and holistic approaches to ending cycles of poverty. She holds Master’s Degrees in Public Health and Social Welfare and an undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern studies, all from UC Berkeley. She lives in Oakland with her husband and two sons.
