Evelyn Hengeveld-Bidmon

Evelyn Hengeveld-Bidmon has worked in the field of human services since 1979 – in public education, the non-profit sector, county government, and most recently as a consultant for universities, and the public and non-profit human services sectors. Evelyn served in positions of management and executive leadership for eighteen years, retiring from the position of Staff Development Program Manager for the County of Santa Cruz Human Services Department. Prior to her tenure in that position, Evelyn served as Executive Director of Mountain Community Resources, where she gained an understanding of the importance of fully engaging all members of an organization in achieving the agency’s mission. As a result of her experiences, she has developed a strong commitment to values-driven leadership, participatory decision-making, strengthening the link between mission and practice, and the importance of self-reflection. Evelyn has special expertise in leading and facilitating the development of individuals, groups and organizations as a whole, and in developing interactive training curricula for human services professionals.

Beyond her professional experience, Evelyn’s volunteer activities include providing management and organizational effectiveness support to a community-based non-profit serving women and families, as well as administering a children’s learning center in the remote fishing community of Treasure Beach, Jamaica where she spends her winters with her husband of 39 years, Jeff Bidmon.  Together, they raised two children in their remote Santa Cruz Mountains home and delight in being grandparents to four amazing children.
