Bio/CV: 

Andrea DuBrow is the Director of BASSC’s Workforce Development Programs. She is a collaborative, creative, and thoughtful leader who possesses a deep understanding of the current landscape of public human services, the challenges facing county health and human service agencies, and the clients and communities they serve, along with emerging resources and opportunities. She has provided leadership for the Executive Development Program (EDP) since 2011, guiding the program in response to evolving county needs and overseeing the graduation of over 300 emerging leaders. In 2018, she was named Honored Instructor by UC Extension.

Andrea’s experience also includes over a decade of teaching and mentoring at the UC Berkeley School of Social Welfare. In 2015, Andrea received the Faculty Mentor Award from the Graduate Student Assembly of UC Berkeley. Before this, Andrea worked for the Contra Costa County Health Services Department for over a decade, directing a multi-million-dollar county-wide, multidisciplinary Health Care for the Homeless program, staffing a public and environmental health advisory board, and collaborating with private foundations on a multi-jurisdictional public health initiative.

Andrea serves on the Leadership Council for the National Consumer Voice for Quality Long Term Care in Washington, D.C. She previously served on the California Department of Aging and Disability Resource Connection Advisory Board, and on the former National Women’s Health Network board in Washington, DC, along with a local public charter school board in Oakland, and on the Alameda County Public Health Commission. She worked as a health educator for Planned Parenthood, and she consults on grant writing, planning, and facilitation. Andrea holds Master’s Degrees in Public Health and Social Welfare and an undergraduate degree in Middle Eastern studies, all from UC Berkeley. She is proud of raising two fantastic young adult sons alongside her husband in Oakland, and she enjoys the outdoors, travel, and adventure.
